In February, Solon Bicycle moved to 33113 Aurora Road, a few miles from its original location. After 37 years, Solon Bicycle at 33113 Aurora Road closed its doors on Nov. 12.
The go-to shop for local recreational and enthusiast cyclists sold out of all inventories three days into what owner Ben Sirkin called its “retirement sale.”
“We just want to thank everyone for taking this ride with us, it’s been a blast,” Sirkin, president and owner of Solon Bicycle, told the Cleveland Jewish News on Nov. 12. “We’ve had so much fun, running a bike shop is so much different than any other business because you make friends so quickly. We have so many friends and we feel so bad that we’re letting people down by taking the shop away from them, but this is one of those times where I had to put myself first. So, I’m really excited to start a whole new journey.”
The shop has been a staple in Solon for a long time, Solon Mayor Eddy Kraus told the CJN. It met residents’ and surrounding areas’ bicycle, hybrid and e-bike needs through its product and repair offers.
