Richard Webner’s article points out that part of the new bike proposal for the city would allow cyclists to use sidewalks.
This is a dangerous proposal.
Unless you are a child, sidewalks should be restricted to pedestrians. Having adult cyclists zipping along our sidewalks is going to get someone hurt.

The solution to the city’s problem with bike lanes has much more to do with a lack of affordable downtown parking and the weather. Allowing bike traffic where we walk does not create parking or change the weather or encourage employers to install showers for their bicycling staffs.As the saying goes: San Antonio has three seasons — hot, hotter and cold.
