WAUSAU, Wis. — (WAOW) Good News Project usually only takes donations on Fridays, but since it was International E-Waste Day, they opened their doors to take in your old electronics.
Every week, Good News Project takes in old computers, TVs, and wires from community members, in order to give them a purpose. Executive Director Christine Daniels said that your old tech has lots of valuable materials inside that can be put to good use even if the tech itself doesn’t work anymore.
Daniels said, "Things like copper and glass can be reclaimed and reused, so we’re just trying to spread the word that we are open an extra day."
She said that the technology is sorted through, before being sent to a facility in Onalaska to be broken down.
