World Championships Race Report: Chloe Dygert is the new elite women’s time trial World champion. The 26 year-old American, who also took the time trial World title in 2019, was the fastest around Stirling on Thursday afternoon. Australia’s Grace Brown was down by 6 seconds for the silver medal. The bronze went to Austria’s Christina Schweinberger. Worlds’23 women’s TT map and profile The 36.2 kilometre time trial course for the elite women started and finished in Stirling. The route had 242 metres of climbing with the tough finale on the cobblestone climb to Stirling Castle (800m at 5.5%). The riders had three intermediate time points at 12.9 kilometres, 22.7 kilometres and 31.8 kilometres. The American had been ill in the last few days, but she set a storming time. Long before the other title hopefuls started their race, she completed her’s in 46:59.80. She was 2:30 faster than Eugenia Bujak, who was now in second place. A huge advantage, but the others were still to ride. Was this the winning ride? When Demi Vollering, Anna Henderson and Christina Schweinberger came to the first intermediate point, none of them came close to Dygert.
