The junior women had to race over 70.3 kilometres on Saturday. They had to ride round the 14.3 kilometre city circuit in Glasgow five times. The top-5 countries at the start were: Great Britain, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium. Junior women’s race profile Those countries took control from the start, although Australia was also seen at the front of the peloton. The pace was high and there was soon riders in trouble at the back. It was going to be an elimination race. There wasn’t any real breaks, although the pace was hard on every climb.
