With most road events in the World Championships wrapped up in Glasgow, Scotland, we now head into the Tweed Valley for the mountain bike races taking place in the Glentress Forest.

The XCO race taking place Saturday, August 12, is made of a course that promises an exhilarating experience for racers and spectators, featuring steep climbs through the forest, slick rock gardens, a couple of gap jumps, and twisty descents reminiscent of classic downhill races. The technical aspects of the course will definitely favor the all-rounders who won’t hesitate to take on the A-lines (the more difficult lines) and risk it all for a chance to take the title. Between the start list and the challenging course, it all hints at a high-speed and intensely competitive race, ideally suited to the explosive and dynamic skills of Swiss rider Nino Schurter and British favorite Tom Pidcock, who got third place at the short track race on Thursday.
