Prologue Performance Cycling Cafe review To say Harrogate is something of a cycling town, is an understatement. The eyes of the world were on the Yorkshire spa town in 2014 when the Tour de France’s Grand Depart ended here, then five years later the UCI World Road Championships pitched up for its nine-day competition.
Both events would prove to be somewhat controversial. For some the pride and exposure that these global sporting events brought to the town were the most exciting thing to happen to Harrogate in a generation, while others lamented the disruption to their daily lives, business and also to the Stray, which took several months to recover.
Whichever side of the debate you sit on, you can’t deny that cycling is booming in the town and party of this legacy is Prologue Performance Cycling, a one-stop venue that is equal parts a bike shop, showroom, workshop, café and takeaway. For the cycling purist, it’s nirvana – but how does the food match up for passers-by in the trend Cold Bath Road district of town?
The café features both indoor and outdoor seating and will usually have more than a few cyclists fresh off a ride, but also offers a takeaway service, with a menu of locally sourced and nutritious food. The menu features a host of breakfast items, plus a selection of bagels and wraps, with all diets catered for.
