A cyclist in Alaska is becoming known for riding his bike in an unconventional way.

And he is hoping to win a Guinness World Record title for riding his bike backwards.

"I was just sitting with my buddies I was sitting just like this talking to them and I just decided if I can rid like this,” Will Walker told KTUU as he was sitting on his handlebars, facing backwards, with his foot on the bike’s pedal. "Now I’m starting to do events and I’m getting recognized all over the world for it."

Walker says cycling backwards is easier than the traditional method, and that the way he rides his bike is good for his quad muscles.

He’s been riding backwards for a decade. Man uses adaptive bike to ride in RAGBRAI, the world’s largest bike touring event Pedaling alongside around 30,000 other riders, he recently finished a 500-mile bike race across Iowa .But Walker was the only bike rider looking over his shoulder to see the road in front of him.
