Vuelta’23 Route Preview: As we enter the finale of the 2023 season, the Tour de France and, for once, the World championship have been fought over, we move onto the last Grand Tour of the year: La Vuelta a España. The Spanish three-weeker has, on paper, the best field of riders of all the GT’s and the usual super hard route, promising its usual excitement. Here are the stages:

Vuelta’23 map Stage 1 Team Time Trial Barcelona (14.8km)There are not many team time trials these days, but the Vuelta a España has their opening TTT stage 1 as usual. The start is almost on the beach at the Port Olímpic and then enters the city, passing various tourist highlights. Thanks to urban planner Ildefons Cerdà, Barcelona’s street system looks more like a chessboard, which means there are many 90º bends. At the most famous building in the city, the Sagrada Familia, the intermediate time is taken after 10 kilometres.
