Parking and Travel , Delivering for local residents , Focusing on prevention , Tackling the climate and ecological emergency Works to improve walking, wheeling and cycling routes along the A36 Beckford Road in Bath are more than halfway to completion with new separated cycle lane, bus stop and continuous footways expected to open in early November.
Bath & North East Somerset Council is notifying residents of some night time road closures needed next week to finish the cycle lane between Bathwick Street and Warminster Road.
To minimise disruption the road marking works will be carried out between 7pm and 7am from October 24 to October 27 and will mean Beckford Road will close to all vehicles and all parked vehicles must be removed. The road closure will only be in place during the works and when signs are in position.
Traffic will follow a signed diversion route around Sydney Road and Sydney Place. Residents and businesses will still be able to access their properties and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Traffic marshals will be available on site to assist those requiring access.
From November 9 to November 11 if weather permits, there will be further works at the junctions of Forester Road, Darlington Road and Beckford Gardens to complete surfacing of the new continuous footways.
Vehicles will not be able to access the streets for up to a maximum of three hours on the following days:
