Just two weeks ago the Boise Bicycle Project’s Holiday Kids Bike Giveaway project was facing a daunting 200 bike shortage. After putting the word out across KBOI Radio, CBS2 Boise, and Idahonews.com the Treasure Valley crushed that deficit. After 384 donations, surpassing their goal, some 634 kids will ride away with new bikes, making their holidays brighter. (CBS2) TOPICS: Treasure Valley Boise Bicycle Project Holiday Kids Bike Giveaway Bike donations Idaho’s Largest Toy Drive Kids Community Generosity BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — This Saturday, the Boise Bicycle Project (BBP) will hold its much-anticipated annual Holiday Kids Bike Giveaway. Just a week ago, organizers faced a daunting challenge, they were 200 bikes short of their goal. But thanks to an outpouring of generosity from the Treasure Valley community, hundreds of kids will now receive the gift of two-wheeled freedom this holiday season.

Idaho’s Largest Toy Drive played a pivotal role in this success. Known for its remarkable contributions to Toys for Tots, this year’s drive gathered over 80,000 toys and $60,000 in cash and check donations, all staying within the Treasure Valley. But toys weren’t the only focus. The drive also collected hundreds of new and used bicycles to help BBP fill the gap.
