(Cyclists compete in the Tobago Cycling Classic. Photo credit – Tobago Cycling Classic) Two-time Tobago International Cycling Classic winner Oscar Pachon is among 21 international cyclists expected to compete in Division One in the 2022 tour.
Pachon, who won in 2014 and 2018, has entered the race along with Venezuela’s Jose Diaz, as part of the T&T Raiders team.
Team Pharmaco has a strong international flavor with their team including Marcus Leon Brunner (Switzerland), Jean Michael Lachance (Canada), Cesar Alberto Marte (Dominican Republic), and the US duo of Andrew Scarano and Gabriel Mendez.
Local rider Enrique de Comarmond is part of the Team Pharamaco line-up.
The Miami Blazers team includes the USA’s Maon Schofield and Jonny Brown, while Mateo Garcia (Columbia) and Baris Aytan (USA) are part of Team Foundation.
There is also a strong Caribbean contingent in the 2022 Tobago International Cycling Classic.
Jamol Eastman, one of 10 Barbadians who entered the Classic, is scheduled to ride for Team Foundation.Hasani Hennis (Anguilla) will ride for the Miami Blazers, while riders from Grenada are set to arrive on Thursday.Division Two features local clubs Southclaine, Flamingo, Heatwave, JLD Cycling Academy, Breakaway, Team Sonics 246, Raiders, and Team Pharmaco.The action begins on Friday at Milford Road with cyclists battling over 10 laps (100km) in a circuit which extends from the starting point to Shaw Park.Stage Two is the Wilson Road Criterium in Scarborough on Saturday, while the third and final stage is on Sunday at 7:00 am.
