Reason for Cycling: I’m cycling for those who have loved the sport, but were robbed of it due to ALS and frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

I started cycling as a young child, inspired by my father’s skills on the bike. Watching him effortlessly ride with no hands or navigate our bike trailer through challenging mountain biking trails inspired me to discover what the magic of two wheels could deliver.

As an adult, my cycling journey began after I completed college. It was during a visit to my grandparents in West Virginia that I discovered the exhilaration of mountain biking . We did a small mountain biking tour, where I successfully executed a bunny hop for the first time, and from that moment on, I was hooked. Video player poster image As the years progressed, I continued to explore various avenues within cycling, eventually venturing into road cycling and, more recently, gravel riding .

Of course a significant change in my fitness routine occurred when I became a parent. Time constraints became a prominent challenge. During this time I discovered Zwift , an online platform that revolutionized my training and racing experience. Suddenly, I had the convenience of structured workouts and the ability to compete from the comfort of my bedroom. I was hooked.
