At the end of this year there will be promotion and relegation in the WorldTour. This will be based on the total number of points that WorldTour and ProTeams have collected in the last three seasons – 2020, 2021 and the current year 2022. At the end of this year, eighteen teams will be part of WorldTour and be given license for the 2023, 2024 and 2025 seasons, if they want them. The teams at the top of the WorldTour have nothing to worry about, but at the bottom… They must be nervous. More points for the ‘Wolfpack’ in San Sebasián There has been a slight change at the top of the ‘WorldTour League’ this week due to Remco Evenepoel’s win in the Clásica San Sebastián for Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl. The Belgian team is second in the three-year ranking, jumping over INEOS Grenadiers. The most points in the past week were taken by Trek-Segafredo. The American team have not had a great season so far, but they added 550 points thanks to Mattias Skjelmose, who finished third in the Tour de Wallonie and eighth in the Clásica San Sebastián. Plus, Bauke Mollema (4th) and Toms SkujiƆš (7th) also scored points in the Basque one-day race. Despite their extra points, Trek-Segafredo didn’t move up as they have been stuck for some time with Alpecin-Deceuninck and Groupama-FDJ, just in the top-10. Campenaerts picked up some more points winning the Tour of Leuven and 3rd in Circuit Franco-Belge
