Mavic just launched a new helmet that promises an ideal mix of protection, aerodynamics, and comfort. Introducing the Comete SL Mips Helmet that is built to perform on the road, gravel, and XC trails. (Photos / Mavic) Mavic says their commitment and focus for the Comete SL is safety and performance while keeping you cool, comfortable and streamlined. Mavic Comete SL Mips Helmet wind tunnels The Comete SL’s front vents connect to inner ventilation channels to help create airflow to cool the inside of the helmet. It also uses an aero-optimized shape that has been tested in Geneva Wind Tunnels.
The Ergo Hold SL+ is a retention system that offers “pinpoint adjustability and comfortable head hold”. Autofit straps go around your ears, don’t twist, and are said to fit seamlessly with all glasses. We’ve seen Autofit on other helmets, and it’s a cool system – the ear cradle is essentially fixed, but it rides on tubular straps and ‘automatically’ positions itself on the tubular strap in the best position for the rider.
