Hang onto your helmets, another trailer just dropped for the upcoming Netflix Tour de France series, Tour de France: Unchained . This, the final trailer before the series drops on June 8, opens with, “The Tour de France is very simple. It is a bike race, every day, over 21 stages.” True. So far it’s clear that the Netflix series is going to bring the drama. Crashes, sprints, tears, team cars in the way of the race. This first season will be eight parts featuring seven teams during the 2022 Tour de France. All eight episodes of the docuseries will be available immediately to binge before the 2023 action begins. And don’t worry, we already know that season two is underway.
This final trailer really makes clear how wild and at times dangerous road cycling can be at this level. Riders are quite literally putting their lives on the line in the hopes of winning. Because what else is there in life other than winning even a stage in the Tour de France? It can’t be much.
