Brookhaven Bike Alliance meets at Savi Market in Brookhaven (Provided) Gather with bike riders, enjoy quiet residential roads of Brookhaven and Chamblee, and work up an appetite for that holiday feast when the Brookhaven Bike Alliance embarks on the 27th annual Thankful Ride.

At 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 28, two groups will be taking off from Savi Market, 1388 Dresden Drive. One group will follow a 13-mile path , and the other will bike 26 miles .

Brookhaven Bike Alliance said the Thankful Ride is for all types of bikes and bike riders. The route will not be painted on the road this year, so the Bike Alliance suggests downloading it to a phone or navigation device. Cue sheets will be available at the ride start. A helmet is required, and all riders will ride at their own risk.

The Brookhaven Bike Alliance has been involved in the city’s planning of the multi-modal plan, a guide to making Brookhaven safe for bikers and pedestrians. At the Nov. 19 city council meeting, Brookhaven Bike Alliance member David Felfoldi thanked the city for its investment and engagement in adopting the 2024 multi-modal plan.

“The Brookhaven Bike Alliance was engaged the entire process,” said City Councilmember Jennifer Owens. “I really want to recognize and honor the commitment to stay in it with us. The end result was something that we could all be proud of and excited about.”
