With the top model coming in under 16kg (~35.25lb), the Wilier Urta Hybrid e-mountain bike gets a big battery with a Fazua Ride 60 motor to deliver an impressive power-and-range per weight ratio.

With a ride quality that rivals standard mountain bikes and minimal weight penalty, the 430Wh battery should provide massive range since you can pedal unassisted more often. But add the 210Wh range extender, and it may very well be a all-day “downcountry” bike. I actually love that they call it a “Hybrid”, mixing pedaling effort with motorized assist. A reasonable 176mm Q-factor should keep pedaling feeling close to an analog bike, and the geometry is nearly identical, too:

The geometry was inspired by the 100mm-travel Urta SLR, which was piloted to a 2022 XCO U23 World Championship win by Simone Avondetto. This bike bumps up to 120mm front and rear travel to make it more trail-ready.

A slack 66.7º head angle and moderate 74º seat angle puts it right on target for modern light trail/downcountry bikes. The 44.8cm (17.6″) chainstays are good, too, especially considering there’s a motor tucked in front of it.

The Fazua Ride 60 motor packs 60Nm of torque, a bit more than the lighter TQ 50 system , and here it’s paired with a mid-sized 430Wh battery inside the downtube.

The frame has two bottle cage mounts, leaving one for hydration duties if you attach the optional 210Wh external battery pack on the seat tube. Wilier doesn’t make any specific range claims, but with judicious use, we […]
