Sport Central will recommence its efforts to collect 1,000 bicycles to work towards the goal of ensuring every kid has a bike.
Last year, Sport Central — a charitable organization making sports accessible to all kids — tried to collect 1,000 bikes to give to kids without one. Falling short of its goal, the organization is taking another crack at rounding up more bikes but has increased its goal to more than 1,000 this year.

“Every kid deserves a bike, and with the continued support of our community, we believe we can achieve this ambitious target,” said Janna Tominuk, Executive Director at Sport Central in a press release.
In a note on the Sport Central website , it explains why Sport Central has chosen to collect bikes, specifically, as the organization also equipment for a variety of sports from baseball to ringette.
