Newsletter Active transportation news and events. Published 2025 Sunday Parkways announcement

Celebrate the joy of walking, biking, rolling, and playing on car-free streets with the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) during the 2025 Portland Sunday Parkways season, Presented by Kaiser Permanente! This year, Sunday Parkways will return to Southwest Portland on May 18, Northeast Cully on June 29, and East Portland on July 27. Thanks to funding from Kaiser Permanente, the Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF), and generous sponsors, Sunday Parkways is excited to add a fourth event on Sept. 14 that will bring its open space energy to Downtown Portland for the first time in almost a decade.

Portland Sunday Parkways transforms streets into vibrant community spaces, allowing people to physically take over the streets for biking, walking, rolling, and playing. As a beloved Portland tradition since 2008, these free events create a safe and welcoming environment for active living, community connection, and civic pride of Portland’s largest public space – its streets.
