In time for the start of the European race season and looming Spring Classics, Shimano have released a special-edition of the top-level RC903 S-PHYRE road shoe.

And if gleaming white was all the rage in season 2022, could classy champagne be the colour of ‘23?

In addition to the eye-catching champagne colouring, the RC903S shoes feature new lower profile Li2 metal BOA dials and a new crossover lacing pattern for quicker micro-adjustments on the fly.

The RC903S also features the company’s new heel cup with a smoother and more integrated appearance.

Shimano say the updated system will ensure a more snug and comfortable fit for amateur and professional riders alike.

“The unique Dynalast shape delivers an expanded fit range to accommodate a wider variety of foot shapes and sizes, say Shimano. “The result is a new, secure, anti-twist, stabilising heel cup that optimises fit and foot stability, holding your heel in place to prevent movement during hard efforts.”

The Champagne-coloured high-end road shoes will be available from sizes 36 to 48, with half sizes from 37 to 47. The retail price in Australia is expected to be $649.95 RC903S At A Glance • BOA® Li2 metal dials• Low-profile crossover lacing pattern• Lightweight and breathable microfibre leather upper• Secure anti-twist stabilising heel cup• Refined toe box fitProduct specifications• Weight: 225g (size 42)• Colour: Champagne• Standard Sizes: 36, 37 – 47 in half sizes, 48.
