Rosti’s Roster Cycling Bib Jeans Courtesy In a world that is currently obsessed with recycling denim , Italian company Rosti is offering cycling denim instead.
The bicycling-based brand, which outfits the AGR Citroën professional cycling team and other Tour de France riders, introduced its new Roster Cycling Bib Jeans. Designed to be worn by pro riders, the shorts are made from actual denim, a blend of 48 percent cotton, 22 percent recycled polyester, 15 percent polyester and 15 percent elastane.
Their fabric composition is unique for cyclists as previous “denim” shorts worn by riders were made from synthetic fibers that were merely printed to look like jeans.
“The idea was to generate something new in our market, cycling apparel,” Marco Saggia, Rosti’s general manager, told Rivet. “We love cycling apparel and every day we used denim jeans in every situation, so why not try to bring the denim into our world? The design started with cycling bib shorts to give it casual denim appeal.”
He said the combination of a super soft hand and a cool denim look gives their technical aspects “extra value.” After a long series of product tests the pieces have been proven to neither hold moisture nor cause chafing.
The shorts have a single back pocket and faux coin pockets where the bib straps attach and rivets.
After a period of pre-ordering, the cycling jeans will roll into the market in Spring 2023 and will be sold directly to consumers by Rosti exclusively. The price will be 170-190 euros ($182-$203), Saggia […]
