The City of Wanneroo released a flythrough animation showing the future criterium cycling facility at Splendid Park in Yanchep. A $4.7 million WA-first cycling facility will open in Yanchep on Saturday, with the state-of-the-art track already set to host the State criterium championships in 2023.

Criterium racing involves cyclists completing laps of a self-contained closed-circuit track.

The new Yanchep circuit also includes a safe space for children to learn to ride. The petition presented various proposals at the time, including around the Alkimos wastewater treatment plant and Butler north playing fields.
