MARLOW 135172-10 Plans have been submitted to Buckinghamshire Council for a new access path for cyclists and pedestrians to make better use of the existing A404 Fieldhouse Lane underpass.

The new step-free access is described as the ‘missing link’ to provide an easy route across the A404.

The pathway, from Fieldhouse Lane under the bypass and following a lakeside route to the Volvo Bridge, will provide a new way to get from Marlow town centre to the west, the Shakespeare Way along the river to the south, and make use of the existing network of paths through to Little Marlow and Bourne End in the east.

Mark Skoyles, chair of Marlow Living Streets, a charity organisation of volunteers committed to promoting local walking, active travel and transport infrastructure that prioritises the movement of people safely and sustainably, said of the proposal: “A better cycling route between Marlow and Bourne End which is away from busy traffic and can be used without the need to dismount, is great news.
