Norwalk schools celebrated Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day , a national initiative meant to "spotlight the joys and benefits of active travel
to school, while drawing attention to the need for safe, accessible school commutes," the district said.
Nuvance Health, the Norwalk Health Department and the city’s Bike/Walk Commission partnered with the school district for the event, handing out educational materials and fun treats to participants.

Through its Safe Routes to School program , Norwalk strives to teach students about pedestrian safety and ensure children can safety walk or bike to school.
For example, new sidewalks and curbs were installed in front of Fox Run at the beginning of last school year.Wolfpit Integrated Arts School, Kendall College & Career Academy, Rowayton Elementary School and Cranbury Elementary School students also celebrated the event earlier this month.AdvertisementArticle continues below this ad
