On August 12, a large community cycle ride travelled from the Canadian War Museum to City Hall to show support for active National Capital Commission parkways. The Critical Mass ride was led by Parkways for People and Bike Ottawa , and hundreds of cyclists attended.
The route took the many cyclists down Queen Elizabeth Driveway, which has become a place of debate over active transportation and closing roads to cars.
Cyclists started at the Canadian War Museum at 10am, then headed to Hintonburg and finally to Queen Elizabeth Driveway, where they ended at City Hall for speeches and free ice cream.
Check out our photo gallery to see all of the riders that showed up for this great initiative.
