Representative image. Hyderabad : A novel solar roof cycle track that may end up setting quite a few trends is being created at Kokapet . The track is a section of the Telangana government’s proposed 21-km outer ring road ( ORR ) solar cycling track.
“The track is being developed on a pilot basis and after it is approved by the State government, a similar model will be adopted for the entire 21-km stretch,” Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority official was reported saying by Telangana Today.
Recently, bids were requested for several projects along the ORR service road, including building a bicycle path, setting up solar panels, and other tasks.
The track will be 8 km long from Nanakramguda to the Telangana State Police Academy and 13 km long from Narsingi to Kollur (TSPA). It will be built in between the ORR’s service road and the main roadway.
This cycle track offers cyclists protection from the sun, rain, and other harsh weather conditions in addition to isolating them from regular traffic and ensuring their safety, unlike existing cycle tracks in the city and those that are under construction in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) jurisdiction.
The advantages provided to bikers don’t stop here. There would also be food courts, security cameras, drinking water, and bicycle repair shops along the track.
