NORTHSIDE, Ohio (WKRC) – A local bike shop is set to give dozens of bikes to people in need over the holiday season.
MoBo Bicycle Co-op in Northside held its second annual "Black Friday Fixathon."
Volunteer mechanics fixed up more than 30 donated bikes.
The group says 20 will go to kids and adults in Avondale, and 10 will go to refugees of the Fulani community in Lockland.
This event not only keeps bikes out of landfills, it also promotes a useful skill and helps connect people to their neighborhood.
MoBo runs an open shop every Sunday where people can learn how to fix bikes.
Every Monday is "Kids Day," where anyone under 18 can get bikes, parts, and instructions for free.
