If you deem road cycling at night is risky and too packed in certain streets like Miaojiang Road, here is an option.
Cyclists in Shanghai can now enjoy a summer night ride for free in suburban Jiading District’s Jiabei Country Park, on Wednesday nights.
The night cycling services are available at the Park Cycling Town of the park, and opens from 7pm to 10pm every Wednesday.
The park is usually closed at night. During cycling nights, it will restrict vehicle entry to provide a safe environment for riders. There are three routes set in the park, including a 6.5-kilometer route, a 4.5km route, and a 2.3km route. The park has also set up guiding light boards at the turning points and turned on all lighting facilities to ensure sufficient light for riders at night.
More security personnel are arranged to strengthen the management of night cycling activities in the park. It requires cyclists to wear helmets and relevant protective gear. It also recommends that bikes should be equipped with lighting and taillights.
