New Orleans native rapper Rob49 gives back to the community in a major way.
He partnered with NORD to give out hundreds of free bikes to kids at Joe Brown Park early Sunday.
It is a cause near and dear to the entertainer who said he understands how tough it can be for parents to afford gifts during the holidays.
Robert "Rob49" Thomas said "I remember for Christmas sometimes we only got one gift. If there are children that will only get one thing, I’m glad to provide the one thing they do get. I’m just thankful to be in the position. To be able to change someone’s life and make them happy."
This is one of many giveaways the rapper has helped organize in the community.
He told WDSU that very soon he will be starting a nonprofit with the kids of New Orleans in mind.
