lovenian rider Matej Mohoric won the Milan-San Remo race using a telescopic dropper post, the Fox Transfer SL, which allows him to have a better position on the descents by lowering his centre of gravity and therefore having more control.

It was on a descent that he made the final attack with three kilometres to go that allowed him to win the Italian classic after four attacks from Tadej Pogacar . The telescopic dropper post is a technique that is legal and widely used in MTB.

"At first I was hesitant to use it, as I didn’t think it would make a difference on descents, but when I tried it, it was amazing," said Mohoric .

"Going downhill with a telescopic seatpost is much safer than without it, it gives you more control of the bike, you can go faster and even avoid mistakes.

"I showed the telescopic dropper post to some riders and they laughed, and I dared them to follow me on the descent.

"Now I think everyone will start to use dropper posts. It’ll be one more thing to think about on the bike. It’ll be like Formula 1."
