This is also the resort’s first-ever ski/snowboard and mountain bike season overlap.

Following a Summer of record heat, Lee Canyon may be the second resort in the western U.S. and the first Nevada ski resort to open this year.

The Rabbit Peak chairlift for the beginner terrain will operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The final day for the downhill mountain bike season is Nov. 3.

Josh Bean, Lee Canyon’s director of mountain operations says, “Lee Canyon’s investment in snowmaking capabilities lets us deliver this stellar combination of adventures to our guests. We’re also a team of passionate skiers and snowboarders, so an opening is a huge win for everyone. Lee Canyon is committed to elevating our guest experience.”

Saturday is also Lee Canyon’s annual Pray for Snow Party from 1 to 4 p.m. inside Hillside Lodge’s Bristlecone Bar.
