Reason for Cycling: Indoor cycling helped me find strength in my identity, always improves my mood, and is a great form of cross-training for all the types of exercise I do.

I first got into indoor cycling in college because I was getting bored with running and lifting weights on my own for exercise. During the fall 2012 semester, my friend Lise had been attending the indoor cycling classes offered at the rec center on our campus, so I thought I would tag along with her one evening. Just like that, my perspective on exercise changed after that first cycling class .

The instructor, Dan, was amazing and the energy of the cycling studio was electric, alongside 29 other riders. Plus, he played “Dance Again” by Jennifer Lopez (my favorite artist), so there was no way I wasn’t going back!
