It is a program that has been going now for several years.
More than 2,000 bikes have been given away this year alone.
"Basically, what we do is we reach out, we see what children have requested a bike or would like a bike for Christmas," Lorie Bradley with the United Way said. "And then we place the order with the vender, Friendship sweeps in, pays for the bikes, helps with pickup and delivery and all that kind of thing."
