The Fort Lewis College Cycling Team finished its Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cycling Conference road racing season at the conference championships in Pueblo, where it secured the RMCCC Road Conference title after strong results all season.

The Pueblo Classic was also the final race FLC used to determine its team for the USA Cycling Collegiate Road Nationals on May 6-8 in Augusta, Georgia.

“Our spring road season is completed, and we are excited to head to Augusta to compete against the best in the country,” said FLC Cycling Director Dave Hagen. “We have had some great performances this season across all categories with more than a handful competing in road racing for the first time ever. Our varsity racers have been working hard to prepare themselves physically, mentally and tactically for nationals and feel we can bring some titles home to FLC!”

FLC cycling staff spent has reviewed season results and the large pool of student athletes to choose who will represent FLC at nationals. Ava Hachmann, Michaela Thompson and Natalie Quinn have been winning races, and Hachmann won the criterium in Pueblo and finished third in the road race.

The men’s team has been nailing down its teamwork and tactics and hopes for standout performances from Sam Brown, Guy Leshem and Ian Williams. Brown was the runner-up in Pueblo’s criterium race.
