New electric-assist bikes. (Valley Ride) BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — A new 50-bike pilot electric-assist bike-share program has kicked off in Boise.
Valley Regional Transit says the goal of the program is to demonstrate the benefits and popularity of electric-assist bike share programs. The bikes will be available to rent 24 hours a day.
Riders can also take advantage of the ride being free for the first 30 minutes during the pilot phase, which will run through the end of October. Just use the promo code "ridevallebike" at checkout in the Vall-eBike app.
The 50 electric-assist shared bicycles are the product of Drop Mobility, a company that won a VRT bike-share request for proposal more than two years ago.
