Experience the leaves changing color in a whole new way this year by going for a bike ride through or near the forest to take in the change of season firsthand. Just because summer is over does not mean you have to shut yourself indoors just yet – take a ride down one of the many beautiful bike trails on Long Island with a friend or loved one. Many of the trails are at local and state parks, so be sure to check first to see if you will need a parking permit or if you will have to pay a fee to park. There are also several mountain bike trails around Long Island for the mountain biking enthusiast. Of all of the trails on Long Island, be sure to cycle the legendary Greenbelt Trail, a 20-mile-longcombination hiking /biking trail with numerous entrances/exits at parks and residential areas. This trail includes steep hills and flat fields, with something for all ability levels. There are also mountain biking trails that run parallel to the Greenbelt. Get out, warm up, and cycle on!
