LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The City of Lima has once again been recognized for its commitment to becoming a more bike-friendly community.
Lima has invested in infrastructure and programs that make biking easier, safer, and more accessible. As a result, the League of American Bicyclists has designated Lima as a Bronze-Level Bicycle Friendly Community.
The city has completed several projects to create safer spaces for cyclists. Lima has invested in infrastructure and programs that make biking easier, safer, and more accessible. "So one of the highlights would be the Spencerville road sidewalk project, where people can ride bikes on that sidewalk, since it’s outside the downtown area. That’s almost two miles connecting cable road to the Lima downtown area," said Ross Vennekotter, Lima Civil Engineer 2.
Additional efforts include the installation of sharrows on bike routes and the upcoming Central Avenue Streetscape Project, which will feature a dedicated bike lane.
