BOISE, Idaho — The Boise Bicycle Project (BBP) is looking for gently used bikes to giveaway to kids in need around the Treasure Valley this coming holiday season.
The bike project is hosting a collection event Saturday Oct. 26 at its headquarters on 1027 S. Lusk Street in Boise from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
You can drop your used bikes in the alley behind BBP.
If you can’t make it down to the bike project’s headquarters, they have partnered with Roundhouse to provide four remote locations. The Clara, 225 S. Linder Rd., Eagle, ID
Dovetail , 1350 N Wenn Wy., Meridian, ID
Columbia Village , 2500 E. Red Cedar Ln., Boise, ID Southside Townhomes , 1004 Southside Blvd, Nampa, ID Roundhouse is a multifamily housing development and operations company.BBP is looking for children’s bikes, sizes 16, 20 and 24 inches as well as BMX sized bikes.They are also looking for volunteers to help make sure each child gets their dream bike.“I think for us, the holiday kids’ bike giveaway really demonstrates the mission of our organization. We’re creating community around bicycles. We’re inviting 500 kids and families who maybe want to be able to access bicycles otherwise, but we’re also inviting 200 volunteers down to welcome them and to share space and to create what Boise could be."
