As the City of Erie continues with it’s projects to increase safety among cyclists and pedestrians, Bike Erie hosted the "We love bikes" town hall event.

"With City Council, adopting the Erie Active Transportation Plan. The City is now looking to start implementing different bike routes around the city. So, we wanted a public discussion about the lay of the land," Treasurer of Bike Erie Adam Trott said.

The night included a panel of speakers, and attendees said their concerns with riding safely with the current infrastructure.

"There’s a great disparity in Erie between the incredible number of people that routinely bike around the city and the infrastructure that’s in place for them to use for bicycling," Trott said.

A night geared to open conversation between officials and the cycling community that they hope continues.

"These always go really well. It would of been bad if the room was empty, but the room was full, and a lot of back and forth, and that’s exactly what needs to happen it’s public participation, with how things get done and who it impacts," Trot said.
