Do you ever look at people riding bikes and wish that you were out there as well? But maybe not so sure of where to go, how to get to a bike path, or whether your tires are even pumped up properly? Or perhaps the thought of a mechanical during your ride is enough to keep you from getting out there?
Thursday morning rides will cover the safety basics – from ensuring the safety of your bicycle (please get a tune up if in doubt), the correct fitting of your helmet and group ride etiquette – to choosing your route using low stress roads, bike lanes, bike paths and lower stress intersections. We will cover “what to wear and what to bring.”Rides are 60-75 minutes, and distance varies, depending on weather and group. If it’s been a while since you’ve been on a bike, or are looking for a good group to ride with, come ride with us to see if it’s a good fit. Please bring your bike (in good working condition), a helmet, water bottle, and ID. All participants will be required to sign a waiver, wear a helmet and obey all traffic laws.The rides are free, but limited to 12 community members.
