reggie miller sbt grvl NBA Hall of Famer and TNT broadcaster Reggie Miller, 57, spends much of his free time these days on two wheels. Since retiring from the NBA, he’s tried just about every version of cycling, from road to cyclocross to mountain biking. And lately, he’s made his way into the gravel scene.

Miller seems to be good at just about everything he tries athletically, but for the former hoops man cycling is about more than competition — it’s about community. And judging from his Instagram feed , he’s one of the cycling community’s favorites.

SBT GRVL is a gravel race in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The event launched in 2019, and has earned a reputation as a challenging day for everyone. But it’s also become known as one of the more inclusive events around.

More From Bicycling play icon The triangle icon that indicates to play Video player poster image There are 4 courses to choose from, the black course, which is 142 miles with 9,000 feet of climbing, the blue course, 100 miles with 6,000 feet of climbing, the red course, 60 miles with 3,600 feet of climbing, and the green course, 37 miles and 2,000 feet of climbing. They also have a para cycling category, and equal prizes for men, women, and non-binary athletes.
