c. Apidura We reviewed Apidura’s first City Backpack two years back, as they adapted their bikepacking experience to an everyday bag for the urban bike commuter. With its boxy shape, waterproof materials, and plenty of storage inside, that first 17l back proved useful for my regular rides to the European Bikerumor Tower offices (a co-working space in Prague). But it’s true that while it safely ferried my laptop, thin shoes & a change of clothes, I didn’t carry lunch and a bulkier pair of shoes wouldn’t fit.
So, starting with the 17l bag, Apidura made it 17% bigger… and more adjustable. What’s new?
It’s 3 liters more storage.
That’s not a lot, but just enough. And the new bag is more adjustable. While the original was essentially fixed at 45cm (17.7″) tall, this new 20l bag is still just about 30cm (11.8″) wide and can vary from 50-56cm (19.7-22″) tall thanks to a new easier-to-use cinch-down closure with a quick magnetic clasp.
