Hundreds of cyclists rode through the streets of Tulsa Saturday for the annual Saint Francis Tulsa Tough. While some people are competing and others are riding for fun, one family is using cycling to create lifelong memories.

Events like Tulsa Tough bring a lot of people together. One father and son duo, who are completing their first ride together in years, say they’re excited to share their love for cycling.

It takes a lot of preparation, drive, and skill to participate in an event like Tulsa Tough. Many people like Wayne Farmer and his dad Vivian Farmer have planned for this for quite some time.

"I got into riding a bike because of this guy on my right-hand side, so full circle that were able to do a long ride together. A couple years and a little bit more grown up than when I lived in Wales ," Farmer said.

Wayne and Vivian are from Wales, but Wayne started his life in Tulsa after college. He says he’s been cycling since he was a little boy, so he immediately fell in love with the cycling community after making his move to Tulsa.

"We haven’t ridden a bike together for quite some time and were doing 70 miles," Farmer said.Wayne says he’s participated in Tulsa Tough in the past, but this ride is extra special.
