The goal for the Roval engineering team designing the new Rapide cockpit was straightforward — had to be the fastest bar Roval has ever made — easy, right? Roval started with the low-hanging fruit; they went to their in-house Retül fit experts and found the most aerodynamic yet comfortable shape they could offer. The team landed on an aero, light, stiff design that works well on the World Tour and local country roads. The new Roval Rapide Road Cockpit looks slightly different from the one-piece Roval Alpinist Cockpit. The shape is not only more aerodynamic but stiffer all around. The new cable and hose routing open port keeps a tidy appearance with an added aero advantage. Think of the Roval Rapide Road Cockpit as a robust road design, like an upgrade from the two-piece Rapide bar. The Roval Alpinist Cockpit is still the uber light road race offering.
