Basso’s latest SV is an aero road bike developed for rider, not for pro racers. What that really means is that while it is lightweight, aerodynamic, quick handling, and stiff where it needs to be… it is actually designed for comfort, real human fits, and with big enough all-road tire clearance so you won’t be limited only to buttery smooth asphalt.

(Photos/Basso) Basso appended the SV abbreviation onto the end of their fastest Diamante road race bike names for several years – short for Sempre Veloce or ‘ always fast ’. But now this new bike simplifies their aero road bike naming, sticking just with that SV core principle.

Basso describes their new top-tier carbon SV as a road bike offering “racing-level performance, for all riders.” Instead of creating a race bike for the pro peloton and then trying to sell it to amateur cyclists, Basso says they can focus on the needs of the customers who buy and ride their bikes. They claim that frees them up to prioritize a more realistic ‘balance of racing performance and everyday usability’.
