Newsletter It’s not the bromance that seems to be between Tadej Pogačar and Remco Evenepoel, but two-time Tour de France winner Jonas Vingegaard has described a ‘fascination’ with what the Slovenian cyclist has done on the bike.The surprising description of their rivalry came in an interview with Ekstra Bladet and other Danish media, with Vingegaard drawing motivation from what he needs to do to win another Tour.“I see that he wins these races, and I have a great fascination for who he is as a cyclist,” the 2022 and 2023 champion said.“I think he is a fantastic cyclist, but it is clear that in everyday life I focus on myself.“Here I make myself as good as possible for the races I will run. I have to hope that it is enough to beat him.”Pogačar won the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Tour de France but was beaten two years running by the Dane.He was on a mission this year to reclaim his crown and undeniably did so, taking six stages in the Tour and beating runner-up Vingegaard by over six minutes.He also won the Giro d’Italia and a rake of other races, including the world championships.In contrast Vingegaard began very strongly but was then seriously hurt in a crash in the Itzulia Basque Country in April.
